focus projects

I've chosen my focus projects for this month.....five along with a redwork project. I'm working on a hat for Bonnie, Luke's girlfriend. She is a sweetie and a very welcome addition to our family. I have two borders to put on my Easy Street quilt. I'll be working on the center of  Hocuspocusville to get the top finished. I am going to load my Fractured quilt onto Fiona and get it quilted. We really need a new quilt for our bed. I have a tote bag for a friend that needs a lining and I'll will continue to embroider the redwork of Winter Wonderland. As I complete a project I will add another to my list. It's a good mix of projects to keep me motivated and happy.

I'm working in a series

I'm joining in with Vicki this year to work on a series. I have never done that before and am looking forward to the challenge. For my series, I am going to choose several photographs and work through some different methods of making portrait quilts. I would like to incorporate some thread painting, inks and pencils and fabric paints. I have several colors of gradients that I got from Vicki and will use those as well. My first photo is one of my niece and I will explore some different methods. I think I will use one of the gradients and try some raw edge applique for my first experiment.

happy new year

Hope the new year brings you much happiness and love.

I've thought about the projects I want to work on this year. I have lots of tops that need to be quilted and others that need to be finished. Lots of redwork, applique and knitting projects that I want to work on.

My dream big project is going to be my lily wallhanging that I started at the David Taylor workshop I took in October.

My working in a series project is going to be thread painting and mixed media embellishments that I will play with on some portrait quilts.

My word for the year is COMPLETE. I plan to complete lots of projects. Looking forward to a very productive year
