It's says Monday but it's really a Tuesday post

I thought I had better post before it's "friday again". I've been working on some tote bags and the "new" project. I'm making one of the quilts from Judy's book with the fabric from a pig. Since I never do anything the easy way.....I've been trimming lots and lots of half and quarter square triangles blocks. It always seems like a good idea to make them a bit oversized until I have to square them all up.

I went to Joann's to buy some embroidery floss and got these (at half price) to helpfully get more organized. I sometimes really do think it's hopeless....I'm such a clutterbug. But I plod on hoping for that elusive magic container that's going to bring it all together for me.

I got the Hometown Christmas kit so I'll be joining in on the fun. Kim is organizing it and so far Vicky, Sharon and Kristie, who is a brand new blogger, have joined the party. Hopefully there will be "no regrets" on my part....if you know what I mean. :)

I won....can you believe it

I can't even believe but I won again! First, it was a lovely pincushion that Darlene made. And now it's the wonderful red bucket bag made by Linda. My cup runneth over!

oh my goodness.....where has the week gone

I can't believe it's friday again....wasn't it just friday???? I have decided that confession won't be good for my soul and I'm just going to wallow in all of my ufos, wips, pigs, and wisps. I did however take a Thimbleberries pig and turn it into another project....pictures to follow later. I'm still working on my PIF projects and dreaming of other quilts I want to make.

Procrastination

Instead of counting my wips, pigs, ufos and wisps as May Britt called them, I've been cooking. I made zucchini bread from Connie's recipe. I also made a shepards pie and a taco pie. Along with cooking I made a huge mess. The cooking is done, the counters are clean. So tomorrow I will count up those projects and pray they don't multiply through the night. I'm hoping I can be as brave as Judy was and hope that confession really is good for the soul....lol.

this and that

I've been working on these blocks to make some tote bags. I cut out these foundation blocks to use for my heartstring blocks. I'm still working on the last borders of the qfah...now I'm just procrastinating.

I got some new sneakers and Miss Cally can't resist a new box.

I'm off to dig through my stash and find those pigs, ufos and whatever else is lurking....more pictures later.

Look what the mailman brought to me

The book is awesome....the patterns are wonderful. It's even nicer than I imagined it would be. I can't decide which quilt I want to make first....such a dilemma.

Paying it forward

Since I haven't gotten any takers on the pay it forward, I decided that I would pay it forward to 3 ladies that have inspired me. Judy for her oh so generous nature. Not only in the quilt patterns that she provides for us but she is always willing to answer any kind of quilty questions you might have. Jeanne is always making scrappy quilts to give away to her favorite charities. She shines in her own humble way. I love her projects and her decorating themes. I've been reading and enjoying her blog for quite some time. And last but not least is Mary who started the Heartstrings project. I am always amazed at how much she accomplishes. I'm going to make each of these ladies something with this fabric collection that I've been hoarding for some time. Maybe a bit of lime green thrown in for Judy........

Thank you from the bottom of my heart. You inspire me to be a better person.

Look what I won

I am the very proud recipient of one of Darlene's pincushions. I just love it....it's so cute. Isn't blogging just the best!

more borders

I thought I was all done with my quilt for an hour until I saw Dot's and the extra borders really do make the quilt especially that scrappy one. Sooooo....I'm gonna frog the outer border and continue on per Judy's instructions. What was I thinking....that I could improve her design. No....I think not. I was just being lazy.....that'll teach me.
