my little boy

Frankie let me take some photos of him today. Mostly, the cats just walk away now when they see the camera. Deb just posted a bunch of photos of her babies. I know she'll love these. Go check out her babies....last picture made me laugh out loud.

I made myself a knitting bag. My friend Erin has one and it's just perfect for holding your sock project.

Hope you enjoyed my boy. Have a wonderful evening!

ufo challenge

I finally finished a quilt from my list.....woohoo. This is a Thimbleberries quilt called Sunrise. I did a simple meander on it.

We enjoyed this view up north for a couple of days. The weather turned out to be perfect. We sat out on the deck, listened to music and read. It was a wonderfully relaxing time.

color palette challenge

For my project, I made a pillow using Carol Ann Waugh method of stitch and slash. I took a couple of her classes on craftsy.com.  I really liked them and love her methods.....wonky and free.

Here are my girls hanging out.

a finish

I finished 4 wheelchair quilts. They went to some handicapped children at a local school. It's a good feeling.

This is a very rare occurance in house of ragdoll. Maggie, after 4 years, still hates, somewhat tolerates Frankie. They were engrossed with a bird up in the gutter. She was willing to let bygones be begones and not hiss or smack him as she usually does if come within a hundred few feet of him.

I finally finished a quilt on my ufo challenge list. This is my second year working the list. I gave this one to my friend, Erin.....it was supposed to be a gift for her 50th birthday. That was 5 years ago. She didn't care....she loved it and that made me happy.

I finally realized my stumbling block with getting my quilts quilted. I told myself I did not like stippling and because I was not willing to work through that, I never finished any quilts. I am happy to say, I have gotten over that silly notion and I am quilting at my skill level and letting myself enjoy it!

I had a lot of help with the binding this morning.....she stayed the whole time, happily purring away.

design wall monday

These are the fabrics I've chosen for the color palette challenge. I'm going to make these shapes with the fabrics and applique them on to the white background. Those are my thread choices and I'm going to use the red rickrack in some way. Go check out Judy's blog to see what others are working on. Enjoy your day and thanks for stopping by.

design wall monday

My borders are done. I'll sew them on tomorrow along with the outer border and she's done.

I thought this would make a nice little kitty quilt. Go on over to Judy's and see what everyone else is up to.

four patch borders

I'm happily working on my 4 patch blocks for the next border. As I start sewing the blocks I'm thinking 154 sets is awful lot when I only need 2 sets of 18 and 19 blocks for each border. I cut, stitched and pressed 10 extra strip sets. Didn't think about the blocks I had already completed. That's what I get for waiting so long to finish a project.

Need to think of another project that I can use these sets in. I am very glad I realized my mistake before I made all those bazillion extra blocks.
I hope you are having a wonderful day.  The sun is shining here after a week of rain and clouds. Life is good!

bloom where you're planted

This is a pattern from Judy's book. It was started a long time ago when she was doing the quilt for an hour quiltalongs. I think it's percolated long enough. I'm going to finish it and give it to my niece. The kitties sort of remind me of her.

The fabrics are by Red Rooster designed by Terri Degenkolb from Whimsical Quilts.

These are for the borders and the 4 patch blocks.

The kitties make me smile.

design wall monday

I'm working on my carpenter star.....I hope to get it finished tomorrow in time to post on the color palette challenge. Go over to Judy L's to see what everyone is up to.
I didn't get the chance to sew over the weekend....we had company. It was good to see old friends.

My little boy turned 4 on Saturday....such a big boy now.

I won a drawing from Frieda Anderson. I got this great pattern to make a tablet cover and the fixings to finish the bag along with this yummy half yard of her hand dyed fabric. Life is good. :)

Doesn't he have just the sweetest little face?
Hope you have a wonderful weekend. We off tonight to see Wishbone Ash.....looking forward to an awesome concert.

color palette challenge fabrics

I found these fabrics in my stash for this month's challenge. I love the colors of the moldy pie. I've been waiting a long time to use the fish fabric. I'm going to make the carpenter star quilt to use in Judy's feather class in June. Only a few more days to get it pieced.
