This was the project we were supposed to make. I didn't love it so I decided to change a few things. I must say that I'm liking it. :)
I'm going to do some raw edge applique.
***I just discovered that I'm a terrible freemotion stitcher but a pretty good buttonhole stitcher. I guess I'll be buttonholing my applique pieces. :)
These are my new toys and I have big plans for them....
Thanks for stopping by....I hope you have a wonderful day!

Wow, that is a beautiful quilt!
I absolutely LOVE that quilt. The colors are to die for and the design is striking. Adore those flowers! :o)
I am liking it too! I think the flowers really sofen the look of the design and are just perfect. Great job!
Wow that's stunning Yvonne, love the added touch of the flowers...
Beautiful job, Yvonne! I must say, I do like the original design - but I like yours too! Where did you get the applique shapes for the flowers??
Your redesign is just wonderful . . . much nicer than the original *S* What are you going to do with those new toys . . . do share soon!
Ooohh !! I love what you did with this! Really Beautiful!
very nice! ....I have the paintsticks and just ordered pencils...love them! what did you use to do the applique? did you make yoyos too?
Wonderful, Yvonne! I may have to copy you! LOL! I just love it!
You cant' be good at everything - button hole away. You're obviously good at redesigning - your quilt is quit fabulous. Well done!
You already know I love it! :-) It's great.
Yvonne! I love that new design so much better! so what are you going to do with those paints???
Yvonne, that quilt is fabulous! I bet Lynette J. would be crazy about what you did too! I am not a machine quilter myself, I keep thinking that I need to learn, but I am sticking to what I feel comfortable with. Darling bag you sent Kim, by the way!
I like your changes too - such a pretty top.
I love what you've done.
I really love your quilt, wonderful colours!
Your version is MUCH better. The applique (regardless of method) sets it off perfectly.
I love your redesign. Didn't your 1st quilt teacher tell you that ALL quilters change patterns to suit themselves!!?? Must be in our quilty genes. I love buttonhole, but do try free motion again. 1st have a look at someone elses. its not meant to be perfect. Its like art, each of us has a different way of making 'thread' strokes (like brush strokes) It can be very freeing!
Love your personal touch to the quilt! Sweet! Have fun with your new toys! Looking forward to seeing what you do with them! Hugs!
I really do like what you did with the TB quilt. It looks so much better! It will be gorgeous when you finish. And the paintstiks, I have some of those that I have not used and finally decided to take a class in September so I would make myself learn what to do with them. Looking forward to what you do with yours.
I love what you've done with that quilt Yvonne! Soooo, whatcha gonna do with the shiva stiks???
Yvonne, I adore what you have done with this quilt pattern. The colours are so rich and the design lends itself to such depth. Thanks for sharing
Your version is much better than the original pattern. Enjoy the buttonhole stitch.
Cally looks so cute in her new bed.
Your version is so much more attractive. That's a good lesson also. Frequently I will look at a design and just forget it, instead of studying and making additional changes to make it more appealing.
Your applique, via whatever method, really bumps it up many notches!
I like your version much better! I love buttonhole applique.
Your border is gorgeous!
I really like what you did with that quilt! The applique border is a fabulous touch!
The changes you made to the quilt are great. The applique is wonderful.
I'm finally coming to visit you! I absolutely LOVE that re-design!! I think Lynette should hire you - seriously!
Can't wait to see what's happening with the paintstiks - something beautiful, I'm sure!
Just stumbled across your blog - lovely blog! I like your re-design much much better. You are very talented!
Very cute
I love the applique you have added to your project - what a wonderful fall quilt!
I love how you changed it Yvonne!, I think the floral border is much prettier than the original.
